The CEO of the National Center of Meteorology, Dr. Ayman Ghulam, confirmed that the Kingdom is preparing to celebrate the 13th anniversary of the launch of the first automatic weather warning system at the Arab level.
In his speech during the Arab Meteorological Day ceremony, Dr. Ghulam explained that the Automated Early Warning System, which was launched by the Kingdom in 2011, is considered one of the most prominent systems in this field in the Arab world, as it is characterized by advanced capabilities in monitoring and analyzing weather data, and uses the latest technologies in the field of meteorology to analyze data and predict extreme weather phenomena.
He pointed out that the system includes a set of advanced tools that work to collect data from multiple sources, such as satellites and ground stations, and analyze it using advanced algorithms through this technology, as the system can issue early warnings of severe weather conditions such as sand storms, heavy rains, strong winds, and others, allowing the concerned authorities to take the necessary measures to protect lives and property.
