The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Saudi Rural Academy (SRA) in Riyadh today, as part of the activities of the Environment Week, which aims to enhance joint cooperation in the fields of training, capacity building and applied research in the agricultural and development sectors, in a way that contributes to supporting sustainability and maximizing the development impact.
Areas of cooperation include the development of specialized programs in agricultural meteorology, the use of climate data to support smart agriculture, the implementation of awareness initiatives and joint applied research, and the development of digital solutions for agricultural early warning, in order to enhance the efficiency of agricultural resource management and reduce climate risks.
The MoU also includes cooperation in preparing studies on the impact of dust storms on the agricultural sector, and supporting the exchange of experiences in a way that contributes to raising the efficiency and sustainability of production.
