37 Entities Participate in "Climate Impact 3". The Ministry of Meteorology draws a map of weather phenomena for the Hajj season

The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) held its headquarters in Jeddah the "Climate Impact Workshop in its third edition", with the participation of representatives of 37 government and field entities concerned with the work of the Hajj season, within the framework of enhancing joint coordination and readiness for the Hajj season 1447 AH.

The CEO of the center, Dr. Ayman bin Salem Ghulam, stressed the importance of early preparation for the Hajj season, pointing out that the center has intensified its efforts this year by supporting the monitoring system in the regions of Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Madinah and the Holy Sites, and providing accurate meteorological services that contribute to the safety of the pilgrims, pointing out that the center's coverage of the atmosphere of the holy sites has reached 100% through stations, radars and modern technologies supported by specialized field teams.

The General Supervisor of Hajj and Umrah works at the center, Dr. Turki Habiballah, explained that the workshop represents an important coordination platform to raise the level of readiness among the relevant authorities, and enhance the use of climate information and weather forecasts to support the safety of pilgrims and raise the efficiency of field work during the Hajj season.

The workshop witnessed specialized presentations that included building a forward-looking view of the Hajj seasons until 1471 AH and the accompanying seasonal shifts, with the analysis of influential weather phenomena and their health effects, in addition to the historical climate record and proactive indicators to support advance planning for the safety of pilgrims.

The workshop also addressed the operational readiness of the integrated monitoring system such as radars and satellites, and the mechanisms for preparing forecasts and bulletins through numerical models and artificial intelligence, in addition to reviewing business continuity plans and meteorological services that support the operational efficiency of government and private entities.

The workshop included a presentation of the features of the media plan and the intensification of awareness messages in multiple languages to ensure the comprehensiveness of coverage, while highlighting the excellence of national cadres and specialized professional development programs to raise the accuracy of forecasts and the quality of services provided to the pilgrims.

The workshop is part of the National Center of Meteorology's efforts to support the Hajj system with accurate climate information, and to achieve the highest levels of integration between the relevant authorities, in order to ensure a safe and stable season for the pilgrims, and in line with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
