Dr. Ghulam, who followed up on the rainy situation from the operations room, explained that the speed of the concerned authorities' interaction with the warning data and predictive solutions provided by the center contributed to raising the level of coordination and effective dealing with weather variables, which reflected positively on enhancing safety measures and reducing the effects associated with the situation.
The CEO pointed out that there are recent scientific studies that confirm a climatic shift in the timings of rainfall in the Kingdom, represented by the transition of peak rainfall from November to December, indicating that the General Directorate of Research, Development and Innovation at the center is working on specialized studies to understand these changes related to atmospheric systems and their future forecasts.
