The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) will start receiving applications for permits and licenses for meteorological services, starting tomorrow, Tuesday, April 8, 2025 (corresponding to 10 Shawwal 1446 AH), in a number of specializations specified within the Executive Regulations of the Meteorological Law.
The available specializations include: practicing the profession of a maintenance technician, practicing the profession of a forecaster, practicing the profession of a monitor, in addition to the service of publishing meteorological data, and requesting a permit for an existing meteorological station, while applications for other permits and licenses will be received respectively.
The center called on the beneficiaries and interested parties to adhere to the approved permits in accordance with the Meteorological Law and its Executive Regulations, noting that it will continue to implement introductory and awareness programs to enhance compliance and raise awareness of the importance of organizing work in the meteorological sector, in addition to holding meetings and workshops for beneficiaries to introduce them to the mechanism of applying for permits and available services. This comes as part of the Center's efforts to regulate the meteorological sector, raise the efficiency of professional practices related to it, and ensure the quality of services provided, in order to achieve the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
