The Ministry of Meteorology issues the climatic forecast for rainfall and temperatures for the summer season

The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued the report on the climate forecast for rainfall and average temperatures during the summer season for the year 2026, which includes the months (June, July, and August), including climatic indicators at the level of the Kingdom's regions, within the framework of supporting early preparedness work and enhancing the readiness of the concerned authorities to deal with the expected weather and climatic conditions.

The report explained that the month of June is expected to witness rainfall around the normal range over all regions of the Kingdom, while the forecast indicates that the month of July will witness rainfall below the normal average on the regions of Jazan and Al-Baha, and parts of the regions of Asir, Makkah, Najran and the Eastern Province, while the amounts of rainfall are expected to be around the normal rate on the rest of the parts and regions.

The report indicated that the month of August will witness, God willing, less than normal rainfall on the regions of Jazan and Al-Baha, and parts of the regions of Tabuk, Madinah, Makkah, Asir, Najran and the Eastern Province, while the amounts of rainfall will remain around their normal rates over the rest of the parts and regions.

With regard to temperatures, the report stated that the climatic forecasts indicate that the average surface temperatures are higher than normal over all regions of the Kingdom during the summer, with varying in the intensity of the rise between regions.

The report indicated that the month of June will witness a rise in temperatures up to (1.0°C) above the normal average in the regions of Jazan, Al-Baha and parts of Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Asir, Madinah, Riyadh, Qassim, Hail and Tabuk, while during the months of July and August, the rise is expected to reach about (1.6°C) above the normal range in the regions of Jazan, Al-Baha and parts of Asir and Makkah.
