The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) congratulated the Kingdom on the occasion of its 94th National Day, praising its great role in supporting the organization and developing the field of meteorology and its multiple contributions at the local, regional and international levels.
This came in a congratulatory message received by the CEO of the National Center of Meteorology and the Kingdom's Permanent Representative to the Organization, Dr. Ayman bin Salem Ghulam, from the President of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and Director General of the National Center of Meteorology in the United Arab Emirates, Dr. Abdullah bin Ahmed Al-Mandous, in which he expressed his sincere congratulations and blessings on the occasion of the Saudi National Day, which represents a symbol of national pride and the great achievements achieved by the Kingdom historically.
The President of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) praised the Kingdom's role in supporting the organization and developing the field of meteorology and what it has reached in this aspect, praising its continuous efforts in improving weather forecasting and early warning systems in particular and meteorology in general, which contributed to enhancing public safety and protecting lives and property.
Al-Mandous stressed that the development of meteorological stations across the Kingdom and its fruitful international cooperation reflect the Kingdom's commitment to achieving greater resilience in the face of climate change, pointing to the efforts embodied by the "Green Saudi Arabia" initiative in protecting the environment and climate, as climate data is important in combating desertification and enhancing the management of water resources, which is in line with the goals of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), and confirms the Kingdom's commitment to international cooperation to face the challenges of climate change, looking forward to the continuation of this fruitful cooperation with the Kingdom.
