The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) today carried out the "Rasd 8" exercise, which simulates the weather forecast during this year's Hajj season 1446 AH, and tests the readiness of operations centers and coordination mechanisms in dealing with early warnings at different levels (yellow, orange, and red).
The exercise aims to raise readiness and enhance institutional integration among the concerned authorities, in order to ensure a quick response and take appropriate measures for weather situations affecting the safety of the pilgrims.
As part of the joint national efforts to enhance the forecasting and early warning system, and improve the efficiency of performance during the Hajj season, 27 government entities participated in the exercise.
