The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has strengthened its technical, technical and operational capabilities to provide its meteorological services on the day of Arafa, in order to achieve the highest levels of accuracy and readiness, and to provide the necessary needs that contribute to serving the pilgrims of the Holy House of God and facilitating the performance of their rituals.
This comes as part of the Center's efforts in continuous coordination with the authorities concerned with serving the pilgrims, as it provides them with information, weather data and possible phenomena in real time, within the framework of an integrated support system
The General Supervisor of Hajj and Umrah works at the center, Dr. Turki Habiballah, explained that the center follows up the weather situation in Arafat Mosque through a network of modern technologies, including: weather radars, satellite images, automatic and manned stations, in addition to mobile stations to measure the upper layers of the atmosphere, which contributes to ensuring the accuracy of forecasts and keeping pace with the requirements of the authorities working in the field.
He added that the monitoring coverage includes five meteorological stations distributed between the Arafat and Muzdalifah areas: the semi-automatic monitoring station, the manned monitoring station, the automatic monitoring station in Wadi Arna in the Arafat area, the automatic monitoring station in the Arafat area, the automatic monitoring station in the Sacred Mosque, in addition to the mobile automatic monitoring station in Muzdalifah.
It is expected, God willing, that Arafat will witness maximum temperatures of 45 degrees Celsius, with humidity that may reach 50%, active northerly to northeasterly winds at a speed of up to 36 km/h, and partly cloudy skies, asking God to facilitate the pilgrims of His Holy House to perform their rituals and accept their prayers.
