The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) continues to carry out its operational work and provide its services and meteorological data in Mina, in preparation for the Irrigation Day, within an integrated system that supports safety plans and contributes to facilitating the performance of pilgrims' rituals, in coordination with the concerned authorities working and supporting the holy sites.
The center relies on an integrated system of modern technologies and qualified national cadres to provide the relevant authorities with weather data and possible weather phenomena through regular updates issued every hour, in accordance with the best international practices in the field of monitoring and forecasting.
The center's plan in this year's Hajj includes monitoring the atmosphere in Makkah, the holy sites and Madinah, and the ports, airports and roads leading to them, using weather radars, satellite images, and the Saudi numerical model and covering the atmosphere of the holy sites by 100%, under the supervision of trained national cadres at the highest levels.
As part of the expansion of geographical coverage, the center has strengthened the monitoring network in Makkah and the holy sites with 16 automatic stations, and two manned stations in Mina and Arafa, which issue a total of 1920 hourly weather bulletins during the Hajj season, in addition to a mobile monitoring center and an integrated operations room that operates around the clock.
During the watering day in Mina, the center issues (24) hourly weather bulletins (METAR) and (8) SYNOP bulletins, in addition to special reports in case of severe weather phenomena, in addition to warning bulletins and automatic warnings through the automatic early warning system when needed, within the monitoring system in the Meteor that includes a manned and automatic monitoring station.
The center also continues its awareness and media programs through the Media and Awareness Production Center in Mina, to provide weather bulletins and awareness messages in five languages through 14 media and digital services directed to pilgrims and field authorities, using the latest artificial intelligence technologies and advanced means of photography.
The center predicted that the maximum temperatures in the Mina Mash'ar on the day of irrigation will be (40) degrees Celsius, and the minimum (29) degrees Celsius, with wind speeds that may reach (65) km/h, humidity up to (65%), and partly cloudy skies interspersed with dust plankton.
The National Center of Meteorology confirms that it will continue to provide its meteorological services around the clock, in support of the national efforts aimed at providing a safe environment for pilgrims to the Holy House of God, and to achieve the highest levels of tranquility during the Hajj season.
