The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has called on interested entities and individuals and practitioners in the meteorological sector to benefit from the system of professional and institutional licenses and permits offered by the center, which are 14 licenses, as part of its efforts to regulate meteorological services in the Kingdom, enhance the reliability of meteorological information and raise the quality of professional practices in this vital sector.
The Center explained through its campaign to introduce licenses and permits under the title "No Delay" that the licensing system includes a number of professional specializations for individuals, most notably: maintenance technician, monitor, forecaster, advanced observer, chief observer, maintenance supervisor, and chief forecaster, within the framework of supporting the development of national competencies working in the fields of monitoring and forecasting, maintenance and operation of meteorological stations, and raising the level of efficiency of professional practices in order to enhance the quality of meteorological services provided in the Kingdom.
He pointed out that the licenses addressed to the entities include licenses for the establishment of meteorological stations (under construction and in existence), management, operation and calibration of stations, installation and maintenance works, in addition to licenses for non-profit services related to the dissemination and exploitation of meteorological data and information in accordance with the approved regulatory frameworks, in a way that enhances the reliability of meteorological information and improves the quality of services provided in this sector.
