The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) will hold a coordination workshop tomorrow, Thursday, in Jeddah, with the participation of representatives of information and awareness programs in government agencies working in Hajj, in implementation of the directives of the Supreme Hajj Committee, with the aim of raising the level of integration in media awareness about the expected weather phenomena during this year's Hajj season 1446 AH.
The General Supervisor of Hajj Works at the Center, Dr. Turki Habiballah, explained that the workshop aims to introduce the weather conditions that may be witnessed in the holy sites, and to coordinate the joint media messages between the participating entities, in a way that contributes to enhancing readiness, and unifying awareness efforts to ensure the safety of pilgrims and raise awareness of weather risks and ways to deal with them.
The workshop also discusses cooperation mechanisms in broadcasting warning and awareness messages, and ways of joint media dissemination, in addition to discussing the means of delivering meteorological information accurately and quickly to workers in the field and guests of the Rahman.
The organization of the workshop comes as part of the center's proactive efforts for the Hajj season, and an extension of its initiatives in supporting government agencies with accurate and up-to-date information, in a way that contributes to strengthening the safety system and achieving the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 in improving the services provided to the pilgrims of the Holy House of God
