The Ministry of Meteorology briefs the concerned authorities on the most prominent possible weather phenomena, climatic studies and operational works for the Hajj 1446 AH

The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) will launch next Thursday at its headquarters in Jeddah the second edition of the workshop "Climate Impact on Hajj 1446 AH", in the presence of a number of government and field agencies concerned with the work of the Hajj season, with the aim of raising the level of readiness and enhancing joint coordination in preparing to deal with weather phenomena that may affect the holy sites during the season.

The workshop seeks to review the most prominent weather forecasts, climate studies and expected scenarios, and discuss their potential effects on the operational and regulatory plans of the authorities, in addition to reviewing coordination mechanisms, taking immediate preventive measures and activating emergency plans, in order to support the safety of pilgrims and business continuity in light of changing climatic conditions.

The organization of the workshop is an extension of the Center's proactive efforts and annual initiatives, within the framework of partnership with various governmental, security and service sectors, to provide accurate climate information early, and to achieve the highest levels of readiness and preparedness during the Hajj season, in support of the quality of services provided, and to achieve the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 in enhancing safety and raising the efficiency of performance in the holy sites.
