During the second coordination meeting in Jeddah. Weather and Climate Awareness Programs and Associations Discuss Weather Awareness Programs

The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) organized the second coordination meeting for influencers and those interested in weather and climate today at its headquarters in Jeddah, with the participation of specialists, academics, amateurs, interested parties and associations, as part of its efforts to enhance communication, build effective partnerships with those interested in the meteorological field, expand areas of cooperation in spreading awareness of weather and climate, and support partnership with the meteorological community.

The meeting witnessed the launch of the "Hawi" membership, which allows those interested to benefit from the programs, activities, and awareness and training initiatives provided by the center, in addition to reviewing the initiative's march and achievements, screening the film "Cloud Chasers", reviewing the enablers of the "Anwa" application and the digital services it provides, in addition to highlighting the technical and scientific enablers of the center from an international perspective, reviewing the experiences of a number of interested parties in benefiting from the center's services and initiatives, in addition to signing four memorandums of understanding with associations from the non-profit sector concerned with weather and climate.

During a field tour, the participants were briefed on the most prominent departments and facilities of the center, including the Early Warning Center, the Cloud Rain Program Program, the Climate Change Center, the Media and Digital Production Center, the Regional Center for Dust and Sand Storms, the Weather and Climate Operations Room, the Numerical Modeling Center, in addition to the project of digitizing historical climate records, and modern technologies that support monitoring, forecasting and early warning work.

During the meeting, the Media Center honored the late Hassan Karrani, in appreciation of his contributions to the dissemination of meteorological culture and the enrichment of specialized media content.

The meeting concluded with an open panel discussion, during which the participants discussed ways to enhance communication with interested parties, exchange experiences, and support the dissemination of reliable meteorological information, in a way that contributes to raising the level of community awareness, before taking the group photo of the participants.
